The Nexus offline reader is ideal for securing secondary doors, such as doors for individual offices server rooms, storage rooms, etc. The offline Nexus reader is also ideal for installations where wiring would be complicated and in cold climates, which is unsuited for battery driven online readers. The Nexus offline reader is available with or without a keypad, which makes it possible to either access the door simply with a PIN-code or add an additional level of security on top of the access tags and cards.
The Nexus offline readers offers a great solution when needing simple, fast and secure access control with simple installation and without long cables or wiring. However, an offline solution requires at least one online reader in the system that can update the access tags and cards with the current access rights. The Nova software can be defined to reset all access rights to offline readers every, day, week, month, etc. If users need access to an offline door, they must first update their access tag or card at an online reader. This feature ensures that old access tags and cards lose access rights to areas they no longer have access to.

In areas with a high risk of vandalism or forceful usage of the readers, an anti-vandal shield in polycarbonate protects the reader against trashing, cuts and scratches. The Nexus offline readers are also installed with an offline controller with a real time clock and a battery-backup to make it possible to access doors even during powercuts.
